Quick Tour 3Days / 2Nights Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Quick Tour Exploration
Morning: Arrival At Iquitos Airport or Pick up at your Hotel. A billingual and friendly private guide will be waiting for you to start your quick tour.
- Transfer to the lodge or eco-resort in the Amazon (about a 3-hour journey from the Airport / Hotel). First car ride along the only road in Iquitos enjoying the scenic drive to San Joaquin Village, then wooden Boat ride by the Amazon river to the Lodge where you will have the chance to spott freshwater Dolphins along the river.
Afternoon: Lunch and Orientation
- Enjoy a welcome lunch at the lodge featuring local Amazonian cuisine.
- Orientation session about the rainforest, safety guidelines, and itinerary overview. Quick speech about the lodge work system.
Evening: Night Jungle Walk (agree with your Guide)
- After dinner, embark on a guided night walk in the rainforest. Bring insect repellent just in case, flashlight or headlamp help to sppot nocturnal wildlife.
- Spot nocturnal wildlife, such as frogs, insects, and possibly snakes.
- Return to the lodge for a nightcap and to share experiences.
Day 2: Wildlife and Cultural Immersion
Morning: Canoe Trip and Wildlife Spotting
- Early breakfast at the lodge.
- Take a guided canoe trip through the waterways of the rainforest. In the high water season canoe option are available, paddle thru water trails searching for monkeys or sloth.
- Look for wildlife such as pink dolphins, caimans, and various bird species. Your Private guide will help to spott them.
- Return to the Lodge for Lunch
Afternoon: Visit a Local Community
- Short break skipping the hotest hours of the day
- In the afternoon, visit a local indigenous community.
- Learn about their traditions, crafts, and way of life.
- Participate in a cultural workshop, such as making handicrafts or cooking traditional dishes( ask for recommendations to your guide)
Evening: Sunset View and Dinner
- Enjoy a sunset view from a designated lookout point.
- Return to the lodge for dinner, featuring more local dishes.
- Optional: Participate in a storytelling session by a local guide about Amazonian myths and legends. The Pink Dolphin Legend is a good one or Yacumama (mother of the waters) Legend.
Day 3: Adventure and Departure (Don´t forget packing before)
Morning: Walk and Nature Hike if Time Permits
- Early Excursion before breakfast Hiking or Boat ride
- Breakfast at the lodge.
- Experience a walk to see the rainforest from inside and spot birds and monkeys.
- Take a guided nature hike to learn about medicinal plants and the ecosystem.
- If you decide to explore by boat don´t forget to bring binoculars along with you.
Departure Time from the Lodge According to your Flight Schedule
- Return to the lodge for the last packing
- Farewell to your new friends at the Lodge.
- Check out and transfer back to Iquitos. Final scenic boat ride back to san Joaquin village, then short walk up hill to the Car
- Depending on your flight time, you may have the opportunity to explore Iquitos city, visiting sites like the Amazon Voulebard or Belen Market for last-minute shopping ( agree with your Guide)
- Drop off to Iquitos Airport or Hotel of your preference.
